All yarns are hand-dyed with the highest quality dyes. I rinse all yarns after dyeing, but whether indie or commercial dyed, some light bleeding may occur initially--especially with pinks, reds and turquoise. I therefore recommend washing SEPARATELY in COLD WATER the first few times. Don't worry, this bleeding will have no effect on the intensity of the colors.
Each hank is unique so, when using more then one, it's best to alternate hanks every few rows.
Base: 75% Superwash British Bluefaced Leicester Wool/25%Nylon. This is the triple threat for sock knitters due to the extra strength provided by the BFL wool, the nylon and the high-twist plying of the fibers. Yet this yarn is still wonderfully soft with a subtle sheen unique to this BFL fiber.
